Feeling safe while flying?

The FAA released the recording from the cockpit of the Northwest Airlines pilots who overshot the Minneapolis, Minnesota, airport last month. The pilots told air traffic control that they had dropped from radio contact because of "cockpit distraction."

WOW...insert appropriate or non appropriate joke here ____

Read the article HERE to see who the men are that are in charge of getting 144 people to their destination safely. So what can possibly distract these men so much that they flew over a 100 miles out of the way? I think if you're in charge of actual lives, you should be more on your game and not really getDistracted.

However, us passengers have to basically strip naked before security, take off our shoes and basically get treated like prisoners. I can't bring a frigging nail clipper or anything over 4 ounces onto the plane, but it's OK for the pilot to get distracted in the cockpit? I think I can do a lot less damage with a pair of little scissors and a bottle of water (unless of course I was MacGyver) than these poor excuses for pilots.

Good one JetBlue

$14 to San Francisco from NYC on Jetblue??? I couldn't believe my eyes as I scanned the conditions of this "deal". The airline makes you book the flight TODAY ONLY, and tickets must be for this week of travel. Naturally, ticket costs will be higher closer to the travel time, so for the cost of a sandwich in NYC i could be flying to San Francisco. Sounded like a dream come true!

I look at every flight going in and out of SF to JFK and conveniently the JFK to SF is already sold out. Ok, so i can get a regular one way ticket and it may still be really cheap. Here is the catch 22, since it is so close to travel time, tickets from JFK to SF are $500. Not really a deal at all.

I see the tactic that JetBlue is using to increase their sales, without losing money and looking like the good guy. Win win, right? Marketing is tricky like that. It's all about the deal for YOU, which in turn doesn't quite work out. However, JetBlue happens to be my favorite airline, even despite some of the things that have gone wrong over the years. I still remain a loyal customer to them when I'm flying domestic.

Definitely a good effort.
